Pioneer Program in SLC

We got tickets to the Pioneer Program at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Katherine Jenkins.  It was SO good!  We toured the new shopping center, City Creek and ate at the cheesecake factory.  We then walked around temple square.  My boys were really excited becuase they have always wanted to go the Conference Center.  It really was a special night!

Canyon Fun

We took my Dad's Ranger up the canyon and drove around.  We also went on a hike, some of us longer than other.  The kids had a great time!

Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Rodeo

We all went to the Rodeo in the new arena in Spanish Fork.  Rodeo's are not my favorite thing, but the kids loved it!  They screamed, ATE, and cheered so loud.  

Best Friends

While in Utah I got to visit with my BEST Friends: Jen, Isabelle, Lauren, and Clayton!  It was so fun catching up.  The military tore us apart 4 years ago, but we have still remained the best of friends.  I so wish we lived closer, but at least I can see them when I go to Utah.  Love you guys!

THE RANCH

What would our trip to Utah be without a trip to THE RANCH!  My sisters family owns a ranch with a huge pond and lots of fun water equipment.  We spent a day there, and it was all we I could do to keep sunscreen on the boys (their white Alaska skin).  I was worried about how Nathan (being a teenager) would interact with his younger cousins, but he did a great job playing with them and keeping them entertained.  It made life for all us moms much easier!  This is one of the highlights of my kids summer!

Flag Burning Ceremony

Every year at the Spanish Fork Fair Grounds the city has a Flag Burning Ceremony where they retire old flags.  This year my sister Katie told us to bring Joshua's scout shirt and he could help his cousins Ben and Tyler hand flags to the soldiers.  The first flag they brought in was the big flag that was flying outside the arena.  Then they had all the scouts come down and make a huge circle around the grounds.  Each scout was handed a flag and then they walked to the center and handed it to a Soldier who then placed it on the fire.  All three of them were so excited.  My Grandpa Swenson was there with the military, what a neat opportunity for Josh to be there with his Great Grandpa.   It was truly an awesome experience for all of us!

Lowe's EXTREME Sports

FYI:  This blog will be experiencing overload over the next few days!  I am getting caught up from our trip to Utah.

Provo has a place called Lowe's Extreme Sports.  Kaylee, my niece, had her Birthday Party there and she invited all the cousins.  There was trampolines, foam pits, a trapeze, rock wall, and more.  They were in heaven, as you can tell....and boy were they sweaty when we left!
