Spring is here!

This is how I know Spring has arrived....

1. SOCCER has started! Hurray!!!!
Nathan
Nathan has played 3 games so far. They won one, and tied the other two. Nathan scored one goal the first game, two the second, and two the third. He is off to an awesome start!

Joshua
Joshua has played 2 games so far. They have won both games! He is playing very well and has scored multiple times. (I can't keep track!) He is still kind of playing "herd ball" but they are getting a lot better.

"Go Coach Jared!"

2. SPRING CLEANING: I decided to tackle this chore this week... the baseboards are clean, the lights are clean, the ceiling fans are clean, the blinds are clean, the carpet is clean! Yeah! The water was really, really dirty! (I really HATE doing this, but it is so worth it in the end.)

Night at the Cypress Black Bayou

Our friends, The Kopps, were camping out at a local lake called Cypress Black Bayou. They invited us out on Wednesday night. They boys had a great time. Here are the highlights.....

Nathan fishing....

Joshua fishing.... (Neither of them had much luck, but Josh was excited with his catch!)

Campfire.....

Nathan had to build a fire to pass off some scout requirements, so we put him in charge. He had been waiting to burn all of his LEAP (Louisiana's standardize test) study papers. He had over 200 pages and since testing is over, he wanted to get rid of it. He was a happy camper burning his school work!

Marshmallow's...

We played till dark and then cooked hamburgers over the fire. They tasted so good! We didn't get home until 11:00 and we smelled like camp fire, but we had a great time!

Our B-52 Experience

It really does pay to have friends in the right places...... Our friend's the Otis's hooked us up. Chris, is a B-52 pilot and took us out to see his plane, the "Wham Bam II".
(By the way, it was really windy, hence the hair!)

As you can imagine, the boys were in HEAVEN.....

We even saw a F-15 (from Hill AFB), the boys thought it was SO cool!

Happy Easter!

One of my favorite things about Easter...they smell SO good!

The boys had a fun morning...an egg hunt, lots of candy, games and yes, the dreaded Family Easter picture!

To make Easter even more enjoyable, Jared and I had to speak in Church! Boy am I glad that is over!

Happy Birthday Joshua!

Don't you just love this kid?

Were does the time go....Joshua, my baby, is 7 years old.

We had a fun and crazy family celebration this year. We were SO busy this weekend and Joshua's birthday kind of got jumbled in with everything else we had to do. We had the missionaries for dinner on Friday night, so we decided to do cake and icecream with them. They ended up being held up at an appointment, so at 8:00 we decided to eat with out them. The boys didn't care how late it was, they just wanted cake. Joshua wanted an "army tank" birthday cake.....I tried!

On Saturday we got up and opened presents. He was SO happy! His smile says it all. We then went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, per Joshua's request. Joshua feasted on pancakes, pancakes, bacon, eggs, and milk. Since it was General Conference we didn't do much else during the day. The boys did have fun playing with Joshua's new toys and putting things together. In between sessions we had a baptism. A family in our area was baptized. Jared baptized two of them. It was a great experience.

The boys were such great sports and didn't complain at all about there Saturday being full with "not so fun" things. Later that night Joshua, Nathan and I went to see the movie, "Witch Mountain" (Great movie, very intense). Joshua did say it was the "bestest birthday ever", although I think he says that every year. I guess I am doing something right!
