5th Grade Graduation

Wow, how time flies....my baby Nathan graduated from 5th grade. I guess he isn't a baby anymore! I don't remember having a 5th grade graduation, but it is a big deal here in the south. He was SO exicted! Nathan has done so well is school and we are so proud of him. He also received the Academic Presidential Award for his hard work. Great job Nate! Now I just have to get ready mentally to let him go to Middle School! (Disclaimer: the heat and humidity here in the south don't bode well for my hair, or make-up, hence this is what I look like!)"Cardon and Otis" this is what we all call them. Best friends Nathan and Nathan!
Getting his certificate....

Muffins With Mom

Today was "Muffins With Mom" day in the 2nd grade. Joshua was so excited! I got there and he came up and gave me a big hug and said, "I love you Mom!" Such a sweetie! After we ate muffins and orange juice, he gave me a book for Mother's Day. All the kids got to share their books in front of the class. The tears were a flowing....I hope he stays this sweet forever!

Family Fun

We had lots of family visiting the past few weeks, which led to lots of fun times! Jared's parents and grandparents came out and spent a week with us. Can you say HOTEL CARDON....it was a little crazy with air mattresses everywhere, but we had fun. Jared took a day off from work and took them down south to see a plantation. The trees were awesome...my boys would be in heaven climbing them....too bad they weren't allowed too!
Jared's sister Melissa and her family came for a few days too. Josh LOVES his cousins, especially Wyatt, who is his age. They had SO much fun, as you can see. Josh also was a great mechanic and helped Grandpa Sid and Dad fix the car, even Great Grandpa Cardon got in on the action.
We took the kids to the park, and we all had fun, and came home VERY dirty!

We got to celebrate Easter with Wyatt and Justin. We had multiple egg hunts and LOTS of candy, actually it was candy overload!
Everyone helped us celebrate Joshua's birthday. Grandma Nancy made him a submarine cake (at his request), we did a pinata (at his request, which gave us MORE candy), and he got what he wanted, a new puppy (not the living one he wanted, but it will do!)

Joshua's Special Day

Joshua was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints last Sunday. He was baptized on his birthday, Easter Sunday, and General Conference Sunday. I don't think he will ever forget this day. He has been looking forward to this day for so long. We asked him if he wanted to wait until summer so we could do it in Utah with all the family, but he didn't want to...he was ready! It was so nice. We had both sets of grandparents, his great grandparents, and Jared's sister and her family here. It was such a special day, and he was ALL smiles!

Spring Break

The kids had a week of for Spring Break, so Jared took a few days off and we went to San Antonio. We spent a day at Sea World, and the boys had a great time. The weather was perfect and we got to see all the animals and shows. We didn't do the rides...roller coasters and my family are not great friends. We walked away with a new pet, "Shamu" Joshua's new favorite stuffed animal.

The next day was freezing and windy. We drove past the Alamo (line was too long to get in and it was too cold) and then went to the River Walk. It was so beautiful, and we braved the cold to walk up and down the canal.

On the way home we stopped to visit the Page Family in Austin. We haven't seen each other since we both moved from Albuquerque. It was so fun to catch up and see how the kids have changed. Joshua and Aubrey have changed the most, Amie and I haven't aged a bit!!!!!

We had a great, quick trip, and came home relaxed and refreshed!
