Another Reader!
Nathan has always been our reader. He reads ALL the time and we have to constantly tell him to go to bed and put the book away. Josh hasn't really taken to reading, that is until now. He has started the Magic Tree House Series, and we can't get him to put them down. He read two books in 24 hours. Looks like he is taking after his brother!

SNOW in Louisiana!
It happened, we woke up to 4 inches of snow! School cancelled, freeways closed, town shut down, kids happy! We pulled out the snow clothes, shovel, and sled, and the boys headed out at 8:15. Joshua didn't last all day, but Nate and his friend built a snow fort and he didn't come in until 3:00. What a great Valentine's Day gift!

2 Handsome Boys and An Early Morning Adventure!

If you know my boys, then you know that they are sweaters....and since basketball has started we decided it was time for shorter haircuts. Jared LOVES short hair, but mom LOVES it a little longer! Oh well, they do look handsome!
On another note, Louisiana has been having some very COLD weather. We woke up on morning to frozen pipes. Everyone was saying that we needed to wrap our pipes, and the news people were telling people to do the same. In our heads, we were thinking, "WHAT...we lived in Iowa and never wrapped out pipes, and we never had a problem!" Well, I guess they don't build houses here like they do in Iowa. We got the frozen pipe to unthaw, thanks to a friend, who is a plumber, but the next night at 3:00 in the morning we heard a pipe dripping. So Jared, covered up and climbed up in the attic to dig through the insulation to see if he could see anything. Of course he found nothing, and we had to call our friend again, the next day! Long story short, all is fixed and the temperature are warming up....70 degrees today! Hurray!

Catch Up
Here is a quick summary of our Holiday.....
CHRISTMAS:
We had a great Christmas. The boys got everything they wanted, and as you can tell they were happy. We lounged in our jammies all day, played and ate yummy food!
FUN TIMES:
We had a fun caroling party with the Young Men and Young Women. The Otis Family helped us celebrate New Years with a Guitar Hero Party, and bedtime at 10:00 (are we getting old?). Jared celebrated his 37th Birthday. He went hunting, we got in a quick bike ride, went to Olive Garden, and then ended the night with German Chocolate Cake (Grandma Lee's recipe, of course!). We have had the missionaries over a lot lately. The kids love when they come!
HUNTING:
Jared went to Utah for a week (courtesy of an early Christmas present from his sweet, caring wife!) He spent the whole week hunting, of course. He must not have got his fill, because he spent the Christmas Break hunting some more, but this time with his favorite boys!
